At the request of the Fort St. John RCMP, UGET officers were deployed to the community from August 21 to September 5, 2026.
Intelligence provided by the Fort St. John RCMP assisted UGET officers in identifying and investigating individuals believed to be involved in the increased violence in the community. During the deployment, UGET officers conducted proactive enforcement targeting individuals associated with gang activity, violence and the illicit drug trade.
Over the course of the two-week deployment, UGET officers initiated multiple investigations, arrested multiple individuals and seized a significant quantity of suspected illicit drugs, firearms, cash and other weapons.
Seizures during the deployment included approximately:
• Large amount of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl;
• Seven firearms, including handguns, rifles and a shotgun;
• $16,000 in Canadian currency; and
• Additional weapons and related items, including brass knuckles, ammunition, a knife, a BB gun and bear spray.
The deployment also generated significant intelligence regarding individuals believed to be involved in the ongoing gang conflict and illicit drug trade in Fort St. John. This information will assist the Fort St. John RCMP and other policing partners with ongoing investigations and future enforcement opportunities.

Sangha of CFSEU-BC. “By combining the local knowledge and intelligence of the Fort St. John RCMP with CFSEU-BC’s specialized enforcement resources, we are better positioned to target those individuals who pose the greatest risk to public safety. We will continue to work with our policing partners to support enforcement and intelligence efforts aimed at keeping communities across British Columbia safe.”
