Charges Laid Following Obstruction and Escape from Police in Langley
On November 25, 2025, officers with the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) were conducting proactive enforcement in Langley when they observed a vehicle travelling at a speed significantly above the posted limit. Officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver.
The driver refused to exit the vehicle and was informed they were under arrest for obstruction of a peace officer. The driver failed to remain at the scene.
On December 19, 2025, a warrant was issued in relation to the incident.
Ron Aldred Madlangbayan, 46, of Surrey, B.C., has been charged with the following offences:
• Resisting or wilfully obstructing a peace officer in the execution of their duty, contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
• Escaping from lawful custody, contrary to section 145(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Madlangbayan was arrested later that day by UGET officers with the assistance of Langley RCMP on the outstanding warrant. He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
“Failing to stop for police puts officers, other motorists, and the public at significant risk,” said Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha Media Relations Officer of CFSEU-BC. “These situations can escalate quickly and have serious consequences for everyone involved.”
