Conor D’Monte Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison for Conspiracy to Commit Murder

On April 1, 2026, Conor Vincent D’Monte appeared in B.C. Supreme Court and was sentenced to an effective sentence of 15 years for conspiracy to commit murder of the Bacon brothers and their associates between January 1, 2008 to February 17, 2009.
Between 2008 and 2009, British Columbia endured one of its most violent periods of organized crime conflict as the Red Scorpions and United Nations (UN) Gang engaged in a series of deadly shootings and public gun battles that endangered communities across the Lower Mainland.
Through years of coordinated investigation and intelligence-sharing efforts, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) and Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) worked in close collaboration, leading to many arrests and convictions of UN Gang members and associates. Among those charged was Conor D’Monte, who was accused of conspiring to murder the three Bacon brothers and their associates.
In January 2011, Conor D’Monte was charged with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, but he fled the country before he could be arrested.
CFSEU-BC investigators relentlessly pursued D’Monte for 11 years until his arrest in Puerto Rico in February 2022, following a global manhunt supported by CFSEU-BC, IHIT, BOLO, and Crime Stoppers. He was extradited back to Canada in March 2024 and has remained in custody since then.
During this project, multiple other UN Gang members were charged and convicted, among those were the following:
- Barzan Tilli-Choli for conspiracy to commit murder
- Karwan Raqib (formerly known as Karwan Saed) for conspiracy to commit murder
- Dilun Heng for conspiracy to commit murder
- Ion Kroitoru for conspiracy to commit murder
- Amir Eghtesad for conspiracy to commit murder
- Aram Ali for aggravated assault and discharge firearm with intent
- Cory Vallee for first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder
At the conclusion of the sentencing hearing, the Crown directed a stay of proceedings in relation to the remaining counts. Conor D’Monte will now be transferred into the custody of the Correctional Service of Canada.
