Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC (CFSEU-BC), British Columbia’s integrated anti-gang police agency, the Organized Crime Agency of BC (OCABC) is recruiting a hard-working, self-motivated candidate to assist our Logistics Team in the coordination of vehicles, equipment and logistical needs for CFSEU-BC.
Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, this position will be responsible for:
•Coordinating the maintenance and operational readiness of an assigned portion of CFSEU’s fleet, by arranging regular servicing, addressing safety recalls, and facilitating necessary mechanical or body repairs to ensure vehicle safety and reliability
•Assessing, troubleshooting and addressing all safety or performance related issues with fleet vehicles; identify and address issues related to mechanical/electrical systems including OEM or aftermarket components (ex. emergency equipment, communication devices, DRL interrupts) and specialty operational equipment
•Ensuring the secure removal of all sensitive materials, encrypted communication devices, and operational gear prior to any vendor servicing
•Responsible for collecting and updating designated team’s vehicle data in the CFSEU-BC Fleet database to ensure accurate tracking, timely maintenance scheduling
•Ensuring all vehicles are equipped with required insurance, fuel cards, parking passes, and safety equipment
•Responsible for the delivery and inspection of new vehicles, including required modifications to meet operational and security requirements
•Facilitating the decommissioning and return of vehicles to vendors, ensuring full removal of modifications and that the vehicle is restored back to vendor-acceptable condition
•Responding to motor vehicle incidents (MVIs), ensuring vehicle and equipment security, coordinating towing, supporting the affected members if required, and ensuring the completion of all necessary documentation
•Coordinating repairs related to ICBC claims, including gathering documentation, liaising with repair vendors, and supporting the claims process
•Repairing or exchanging vehicles with members roadside as operationally required to reduce operational down time for teams
•Regularly modifying systems to adapt to evolving vehicle body styles and operational needs
•Maintaining relationships with vendors, ensuring discretion, reliability, and adherence to best practices in financial management when authorizing services
•Supporting purchasing activities using an assigned credit card, forwarding receipts and documentation for reconciliation and payment
•Coordinating procurement, maintenance, distribution, and tracking of specialized gear and operational equipment for assigned teams
•Diagnosing equipment failures and coordinating prompt repair or replacement to ensure reliability and compliance with operational standards
•Proper disposal of sensitive material and operational equipment
•Construction and upgrades, including but not limited to running wires, framing, painting, etc
•Escorting external contractors while they perform work in sensitive areas
•Assembling, relocating, or disposing of office furniture, electronic equipment and other miscellaneous equipment
•Assessing, troubleshooting, and addressing any interior and exterior safety concerns that arise
•Securely delivering sensitive documents and materials to and from external agencies, vendors, and post office boxes
•Securing premises following a warrant to search, including reinforcing doors, windows, and gates
•Assisting with the secure transportation of seized exhibits as requested by investigators
•Assisting with physical security when requested
•Other related duties as required
We are looking for a strong team player with a great attitude and the following qualifications:
•Completion of a high school diploma
•Class 5 Driver’s Licence
•Additional courses in basic computer skills, electronics, automotive, mechanical, technical and construction would be an asset
•Basic first aid would be an asset
•Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
•Minimum 3 to 5 years of driving experience in all weather conditions
•Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
•Experience with Adobe Acrobat
•Experience installing electronics, mobile radios and or other related emergency equipment would be an asset
•Experience with the safe and proper use of handheld and table mounted power tools would be an asset
•Experience operating transport vans or larger vehicles would be an asset
•Understanding of a policing environment would be an asset
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
•Strong organization and planning skills
•Strong problem-solving skills
•Ability to be self motivated and work with little or no supervision
•Ability to multitask and switch easily between diverse tasks while staying organized
•Ability to travel to various locations on short notice
•Ability to obtain and maintain a RCMP security clearance. An active RCMP clearance would be an asset.
Annual Salary: $65,793.00 – $68,406.00 – $71,019.00 – $73,632.00 – $76,225.50
This is a civilian unionized position with CUPE 718, working 37.50 hours per week. Rates negotiated in the new collective agreement with CUPE 718 will be applied to the current annual salary effective April 1, 2025.
This position requires in-office attendance.
A pool of candidates may be established to staff additional positions in the future.
