Two Vancouver Men Charged Following CFSEU-BC Drug Trafficking Investigation

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) has secured charge approval against two Vancouver men following an extensive, intelligence-driven investigation into the distribution of fentanyl and other controlled substances across the Lower Mainland, disrupting an organized drug-trafficking network responsible for contributing to toxic drug-related harm.

Initiated in February 2024, CFSEU-BC’s Anti-Trafficking Task Force (ATTF) launched the investigation after intelligence identified a suspect believed to be distributing large quantities of fentanyl and other illicit drugs across the region through an organized network.

On October 2, 2024, CFSEU-BC’s ATTF, with support from the CFSEU-BC Uniform Gang Enforcement Team, the Vancouver Police Department Emergency Response Team, and the New Westminster Police Department, arrested two suspects and executed two search warrants at two residences in the Lower Mainland.

The coordinated searches resulted in the seizure of:

• Over 3 kilograms of fentanyl
• 10 ounces of methamphetamine
• 6 ounces of cocaine
• $3,000 in Canadian currency
• Various cutting agents and packaging materials

Following the arrests, both suspects were released pending charge approval. On September 29, 2025, charges were approved against both individuals. Evidence gathered throughout the investigation also supported additional trafficking-related charges.

Ashnil Bobby Singh, 31, of Vancouver, has been charged with:

• Two counts of trafficking fentanyl
• One count of trafficking MDMA
• One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
• One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine

Lenny Mauricio Umanzor, 31, of Vancouver, has been charged with:

• One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
• One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

Warrants were issued for both accused. Singh was arrested in Richmond on October 9, 2025, and released with conditions. Umanzor surrendered to police on October 15, 2025, and was released pending his next court appearance.

“This investigation underscores CFSEU-BC’s unwavering commitment to protecting British Columbians from the lethal impacts of fentanyl and other synthetic drugs,” said Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha, Media Relations Officer with CFSEU-BC. “Through close collaboration with our policing partners, CFSEU-BC continues to dismantle networks responsible for trafficking toxic substances that fuel overdoses, violence, and organized crime in our communities.”
