Multiple Contract Positions
BC Witness Security Unit (BCWSU) – Green Timbers

Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC (CFSEU-BC), the Organized Crime Agency of BC (OCABC) is recruiting hard-working, self-motivated candidates, working up to 37.50 hours per week, for multiple Finance Administrator positions to provide financial, and administrative support to the BCWSU to ensure that BC Witness Security Program policies are adhered to.

Reporting to the BCWSU Project Employee, these positions will be responsible for:

  • Processing BCWSU investigative funding requests and allocated funding to partner agencies
  • Processing RO580 expenditures and disbursements
  • Reviewing, processing, and reconciling a wide variety of financial transactions (e.g. invoices, claims, requests for payment, travel, etc.)
  • Verifying financial data received for completeness and accuracy, and returning non-compliant transactions to originator
  • Identifying and correcting financial coding errors and other anomalies
  • Compiling and submitting Funding Requests to external partner agencies
  • Maintaining various Database and extensive excel spreadsheets
  • File Maintenance of Electronic and Hardcopy files to ensure continuity is maintained
  • Scanning documents and notebooks
  • Researching, compiling and coordinating information and statistics;
  • Requesting CPIC, Criminal Record and PRIME hits
  • Arranging Team Meetings and Training
  • Submitting Firearms Requests for member travel
  • Other related duties, as required

 

We are looking for strong team players with great attitudes and the following qualifications:

  • High school completion, as well as additional courses related to accounting and administration
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a covert and sensitive police environment
  • Working knowledge of accounting techniques and practices
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills with particular emphasis on attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience working with RO580 funds and financial processes is an asset
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Top Secret security clearance

Annual Salary $65,793.00 – $68,406.00 – $71,019.00 – $73,632.00 – $76,225.50

This is a unionized position with CUPE, working as and when required up to 37.5 hours per week. This position requires in-office attendance. A pool of candidates may be established to staff additional positions in the future.
