About OCABC & CFSEU-BC:
The Organized Crime Agency of BC, working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC (CFSEU-BC), leads efforts in combating organized crime across the province. We are inviting applications from enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals for the role of Intelligence Analyst, dedicated to assessing criminal intelligence data and supporting strategic and tactical analysis for investigative teams.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Criminal Intelligence Analyst Supervisor and the Team Sergeant, the Intelligence Analyst will be integral in:

Data Analysis & Strategy Development: Determine, design, and develop data collection strategies, techniques, and methods for the intelligence process.
Research & Evaluation: Research, evaluate, interpret, and analyze information to identify criminal trends and patterns, developing tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence products.
Reporting: Prepare reports to identify and illustrate criminal group/individual associations and trends.
Judicial Support: Conduct analysis for judicial purposes, including providing explanations of intelligence products and defending analytical judgments during expert witness testimony.
Expertise Sharing: Participate as an expert resource in presentations, meetings, and working groups, contributing to new analytical methods and approaches.
Networking & Collaboration: Establish internal and external contacts to facilitate intelligence analysis, trend identification, and collaborative projects.
Communication & Presentation: Communicate and present analytical findings to management and operational teams in various formats.
Leadership & Supervision: Mentor and supervise junior analytical staff, providing guidance on analytical techniques and best practices, and evaluating performance.
Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
Minimum 3 years of recent experience (within the last 5 years) in intelligence analysis, particularly in crime, tactical, operational, or strategic domains.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a police environment.
Proven track record in research, analysis, evaluation, and presentation of information to decision-makers.
Proficiency in analytical programs and databases, such as i2 Analyst Notebook, iBase, or specialized mapping software.
Experience in witness/agent threat assessments and extensive knowledge of the BC gang and organized crime landscape are considered assets.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
Successful completion of the National RCMP Test for Intelligence Analysts.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally and work flexible hours on short notice.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain an RCMP Top Secret police security clearance.

Salary & Benefits:

Annual Salary: $100,503.00 to $122,499.00
This is a unionized position with CUPE, requiring 37.5 hours of work per week and in-office attendance.
