Project Employee / Information Coordinator Multiple (Permanent Full-Time & Contract) Victoria Region **Job Posting Expires on Feb 8th 2025**
Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC (CFSEU-BC), the Organized Crime Agency of BC (OCABC) is recruiting a hard-working, self-motivated candidate to assist the Criminal Records Review Unit (CRRU).
Reporting to the CRRU Manager, the Information Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Providing support in the preparation, formatting and legal requirement related to disclosure materials
• Assisting in the maintenance and organization of all documents of evidentiary value to aid in the creation of rationale documents
• Assisting in the disclosure of sensitive information to identify privileged or operationally sensitive information contained in the investigative licensing files
• Maintaining comprehensive investigative file knowledge as it pertains to disclosure
• Facilitates data flow between CRRU and partners (SPD, municipal departments, RCMP detachments)
• Utilizing police systems (PRIME, PROS, JUSTIN, CPIC, etc.)
• Designing and maintaining spreadsheets, contact lists and documentation information
• Preparing information by organizing paper and electronic data
• Maintaining work logs to track data processed in information systems
• Assisting with third party checks
• Attending court when required
• Responding to Access to Information Requests (ATIP) and preparing material for disclosure as per RCMP Policy, and
• Other duties, as and when required.
We are looking for a strong team player with a positive attitude who can work in a fast-paced environment, with the following qualifications:
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field (i.e. Public or Business Administration or equivalent) OR a combination of education and related experience may be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in an investigative capacity working within a governmental regulatory and/or Police environment
• Working experience data mining CPIC, PRIME, PIRS, PROS and other law enforcement databases and/or CORNET and JUSTIN is considered an asset
• Sound understanding of provincial and federal statutes (e.g., Privacy Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, Criminal Code, Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) along with relevant case law and the judicial system
• Strong communication and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, and
• Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced police security clearance.
Annual Salary: $80,964.00 – $84,181.50 – $87,399.00 – $90,597.00 – $93,814.50
This is a civilian unionized position with CUPE 718, working 37.5 hours per week.
A pool of candidates may be established to staff additional positions in the future.
