The Covert Asset Support Team manages current human assets and identifies, recruits, develops and manages new assets targeting the full range of organized crime groups in the province of British Columbia. Our mandate is to be the most dynamic, dedicated, professional, and motivated asset handling unit in the country; and to have unwavering ethics, integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

What is a Confidential Informer?
An informant remains anonymous, is voluntary, and provides information on criminal activity. An Informant is considered less risk with a potential for long term use and has less handler commitment.
What is a Police Agent?
A police agent is a citizen who cooperates with investigators and is utilized to further a criminal investigation. This person is directed and overseen by the police and gives evidence in court regarding their involvement in the investigation. A police Agent is extremely valuable in complex investigations.
