
CFSEU-BC Employee Profile: Cst. Tyson Perry
Cst. Tyson Perry is a dedicated member of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of BC (CFSEU) since 2020 after a decade of frontline policing. Cst. Perry has a deep-rooted passion for judo that has shaped both his personal and professional life. His love for judo led him to live in Japan for a number of years where he earned his black belt.
In 2023, Cst. Perry founded the Green Timbers Judo Club at the RCMP Headquarters for E Division, aiming to foster camaraderie and skill development among police officers and staff. He also volunteers his time coaching local kids in judo, nurturing the next generation of enthusiasts and helping them stay on a positive path.
Being a descendant of RCMP Commissioner A.B. Perry, Cst. Tyson Perry has always aspired to serve in law enforcement and is very proud to represent policing in the community and integrate his passion for judo into his work with the RCMP and CFSEU.
Recently, Cst. Perry secured $20,000 in funding for new judo mats from the Office of Civil Forfeiture of BC. This initiative transformed seized criminal assets into valuable resources for police officers and staff to practice and learn judo effectively, further developing his judo program in policing
