CFSEU-BC Investigation Leads to Seizure of Multiple Firearms and Stolen Car with Gas Cans

Multiple loaded firearms and a stolen vehicle have been seized and three men have been arrested and released after an investigation led officers from the Combined Forces Special
Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC), B.C.’s integrated provincial anti-gang unit, and Kamloops RCMP to a hotel in Kamloops over the weekend.

Due to an imminent risk to public safety, CFSEU-BC and the Kamloops RCMP, sought the support of the RCMP’s Southeast District Emergency Response Team. A search warrant was
issued and executed in the hotel and three men were arrested.

Officers located and seized multiple loaded handguns and ammunition inside the hotel room, as well as a stolen vehicle with gasoline canisters inside it parked outside the hotel. One of the
men arrested was wearing body armour, which has also been seized.

The men who were arrested have since been released without charges as the investigation continues.

As this is an ongoing and active investigation, no further details will be released at this time. “The seizure of firearms by CFSEU-BC officers in partnership with the Kamloops RCMP and
Southeast District Emergency Response Team has reduced the risk to the public’s safety,” says CFSEU-BC’s Staff Sergeant Lindsey Houghton. “Anytime we can take firearms out of the hands
of those who might be willing to use them for criminal acts means that communities are safer.”
