CFSEU Firearms Team Nets Duo
After a four month investigation the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit firearms team has arrested two Metro Vancouver men for gun trafficking, after a semiautomatic pistol and a machine gun were seized.
The investigation began in September 2010, and spanned multiple communities within Metro Vancouver. While the pair had no specific links to any particular criminal enterprise, investigators say these weapons could have ended up in the hands of any number of gangs or organized crime groups. In addition to the firearms, investigators also seized a quantity of cocaine.
The pair, identified as 27-year-old Jonathan Thomas Duguay and 23-year-old Mathew James Milando, were arrested and now face a number of firearms- related charges under the Criminal Code of Canada. Duguay is also charged with offences under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
This case brings the total number of firearms seized by CFSEU investigators provincially to over 130.
