Employee Profile: Kelly Power

Corporal Kelly Power recently joined the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC), as the Wellness Coordinator on April 22, 2025. Kelly brings valuable experience from her work with the Proactive Support Response Team (PSRT) and the Peer to Peer (P2P) program where she supported employees and teams in crises.

Having personally experienced an operational stress injury and successfully reintegrated into the workplace, Kelly offers both professional expertise and lived experience in employee wellness. Over her 16 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Surrey, she has served in various units, participated in the Lower Mainland District Crisis Negotiators Team (LMD-CNT), and recently joined the Lower Mainland Police Liaison Team (LMD-PLT). Kelly is deeply committed to community safety and has earned commendations from the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) for her crisis response work.

Before joining the RCMP in 2009, Kelly worked in her home province of Newfoundland and Labrador, for a number of years, in the social service sector. She worked in youth corrections, a non-profit organization serving at risk youth and for a community service agency providing housing for homeless and at-risk women. In these roles Kelly gained direct experience working with her community.

Outside of work, Kelly is an avid hockey player, currently active in three Vancouver leagues, and a passionate supporter of charitable causes like Hockey for the Homeless, where her team raised over $22,000. Fun fact: she was the first female ice hockey referee in Newfoundland and Labrador, refereeing both minor and junior men’s games.

Kelly would like to share that her door is always open – your wellness is her top priority!
