Contract Position

Executive Services – Green Timbers Location

Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC (CFSEU-BC), British Columbia’s integrated anti-gang police agency, the Organized Crime Agency of BC (OCABC) is recruiting a hard-working, self-motivated candidate to provide assistance and support to members of the CFSEU-BC operational teams.

Reporting to the Executive Administrator and Team Sergeant, this position will be responsible for:

  • Managing PRIME/E&R databases, including scanning, and linking data, ensuring data on the project drive matches the database and the hard copy investigation material
  • Providing quality control of documents ensuring spelling and/or facts are accurate
  • Performing queries to extract information, creating info sheets, and time lines
  • Scanning paper documents and reports required for electronic disclosure/reports. Vetting spreadsheets and maintenance of project drives
  • Requesting files through OIMS
  • Liaising with personnel from various multi-jurisdictional law enforcement & regulatory agencies to facilitate information exchanges
  • Scanning original documents ensuring legal continuity is maintained
  • Endorsing scanned documents to facilitate ease of access when searching database
  • Scanning, combining, OCR and vetting all file related materials received internally and externally to provide investigators information/tools to assist with investigation
  • Researching, compiling and coordinating information and statistics databases and providing appropriate parties with new target sheets
  • Running queries on CPIC, PRIME and JUSTIN databases to ensure accuracy of information
  • Proofreading correspondence to ensure spelling and facts are accurate
  • Making travel arrangements for teams which includes booking flights, hotels and car rentals
  • Obtaining TIN & TAN’s for members
  • Creating and maintaining HRG travel accounts
  • Preparing paperwork for members to travel with firearms
  • Attending and/or scheduling daily briefings and team meetings, taking minutes at these meetings
  • Preparing correspondence and Power Point presentations
  • Scheduling Boardroom bookings through the RCMP system and schedule the meeting internally and externally. Scribe when required.
  • Proving back-up to the Executive Administrator for various tasks
  • Other related duties as required

 

We are looking for a strong team player with a great attitude, and the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a high school diploma
  • Completion of 6 months to 1-year post-secondary training or courses in computers, word processing and basic police/law procedures would be an asset
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years relevant administrative experience
  • Experience in a police environment would be an asset
  • Experience reviewing police materials for quality control would be an asset
  • Knowledge of police databases including CPIC, Justin and PRIMEBC would be an asset
  • Basic understanding of OSR scoring and criminal charges would be an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer focus and teamwork skills
  • Strong computer skills and demonstrated experience in Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a RCMP security clearance. Candidates with an active RCMP clearance would be an asset.

 

Annual Salary: $61,483.50 – $63,901.50 – $66,339.00 – $68,776.50 – $71,214.00

This is a civilian unionized position with CUPE 718, working as and when required up to 37.5 hours per week. Rates negotiated in the new collective agreement with CUPE 718 will be applied to the current annual salary effective April 1, 2025.
This position requires in-office attendance.
A pool of candidates may be established to staff additional positions in the future.
