Five sentenced in Wolfpack-Aligned CFSEU-BC Drug Trafficking Investigation

Five individuals have pled guilty and been sentenced following a CFSEU-BC led investigation into Wolfpack-linked drug trafficking activity in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

The investigation began in July 2020, targeting a group associated with the Wolfpack who were actively trafficking controlled substances. Between October 2020 and May 2021, multiple suspects were identified and search warrants executed at various Vancouver locations.

On November 23, 2022, the Public Prosecution Service of Canada approved eleven (11) criminal charges against five individuals. (See Initial media release from November 2022). All later pled guilty and have now received significant prison sentences:

  • Vinod Kanna Aruldevarajan (28 years old) – Pled guilty to trafficking a controlled substance; sentenced to 4.5 years (July 17, 2024)
  • Howjeen Saed (29 years old) – Pled guilty to conspiracy to trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking a controlled substance; sentenced to 10 years (November 29, 2024)
  • Roger Bardales Medina (32 years old) – Pled guilty to trafficking a controlled substance; sentenced to 5 years (November 29, 2024)
  • Hemen Hewa Saed (32 years old) – Pled guilty to conspiracy to trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking a controlled substance; sentenced to 9 years (February 18, 2025)
  • Diego Saed (26 years old) – Pled guilty to conspiracy to trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking a controlled substance; sentenced to 6.5 years (February 18, 2025)

“These convictions demonstrate CFSEU-BC’s continued success in targeting and disrupting organized crime groups that pose a threat to public safety,” said Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha, CFSEU-BC Media Relations Officer. “The investigation highlights the strength of inter-agency collaboration, and CFSEU-BC extends its thanks to the Vancouver Police Department’s (VPD’s) Organized Crime Section, the VPD Strike Force, and the VPD Integrated Emergency Response Team.”
