Pro-active enforcement on the Island by Uniform Gang Enforcement Team

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia’s (CFSEU-BC) Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) was on Vancouver Island between March 5 and March 8 to conduct pro-active enforcement. Officers made multiple seizures of drugs, cash and weapons.

The following summaries highlight the investigations that took place in this week-long enforcement:

March 6, 2025

UGET officers conducted a traffic stop on Goldstream Avenue and Jacklin Road in Langford. Two (2) individuals were arrested for possession for the purposes of trafficking. Officers seized GHB, suspected prescription pills, and multiple cellphones. In another traffic stop for speeding in the area of Goldstream and Wale Road in Langford, two (2) individuals were arrested for possession for the purposes of trafficking. Officers seized multiple baggies of suspected drugs, namely methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, cell phones and cash. These investigations remain ongoing. In the same area, UGET conducted a traffic stop and arrested a wanted man with three (3) unendorsed warrants.

UGET officers assisted West Shore Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) members with a fail to stop for a police investigation and took the suspects into custody. Upon arrest, drugs and weapons were seized. The investigation remains ongoing by West Shore RCMP detachment.

March 7, 2025

In Nanaimo, UGET officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Strickland Street and Robins Street. One (1) of the occupants had multiple warrants out of Nanaimo and was arrested. Officer seized large amounts of pre-packaged drugs, scales and cash.

One (1) man was arrested for prohibited driving during a traffic stop in the area of Peatt Road and Hockley Avenue in Langford.

UGET members conducted a traffic stop in the area of Atkins Avenue and Winster Road in Langford. The driver who is a well-known drug trafficker in the area was arrested for fail to stop for police. Officers seized a large amount of money as proceeds of crime. The investigation remains ongoing.

March 8, 2025

UGET officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Town site Road and Millstone Avenue in Nanaimo. The driver was arrested for possession for the purposes of trafficking and the officer seized a large bag of prepackaged drugs and cash. The investigation remains ongoing.

UGET officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Value Lodge Motel in Nanaimo. The driver had an active warrant out of Coquitlam (Coquitlam RCMP) and was taken into custody.

UGET conducted multiple traffic stops with well known drug traffickers including individuals who were local to the area, as well as others from out of town.

“Over the 3 days of enforcement action conducted by UGET members, they not only seized a significant amount of street level drugs, cash and weapons but, also made drug traffickers very aware that they were being watched”, says Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha Media Relations Officer for CFSEU-BC.
