The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) is launching the North District Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (ND UGET) a dedicated team focused on disrupting gang activity and supporting law enforcement across Northern B.C.

The new team builds on the proven success of UGET operations and responds to the increasing demand for a sustained enforcement presence in the North.

UGET Impact: Strong, Measurable Results

From January 2023 to September 2025, UGET’s enforcement efforts resulted in the seizure of:

• $1,252,135 in illicit proceeds
• 192 firearms
• 194 kilograms of illegal drugs
• 24 vehicles
• 99 firearm components
• 1,415 additional weapons

These outcomes demonstrate UGET’s effectiveness in reducing gang-related harm and removing weapons and drugs from communities across B.C.

Why Northern B.C. Needs a Dedicated Team
Organized crime groups continue to expand drug-trafficking routes and move weapons through Northern B.C., increasingly targeting remote and rural communities.

Between 2020 and 2024, CFSEU-BC’s UGET deployed to Northern B.C. 28 times – representing 26% of all UGET deployments. As of September 2025, UGET has already deployed 33 times, including six times to the North District.

North District UGET will:
• Target violent offenders and gang associates
• Intercept drugs, weapons and criminal proceeds
• Support local police through coordinated intelligence sharing
• Enhance community safety through focused suppression efforts

These approaches reflect proven strategies used successfully across the province.

Strengthening Community Safety
A dedicated Northern team expands CFSEU-BC’s capacity to address gang violence and support safer communities. Concentrated enforcement, timely intelligence, and coordinated operations reduce opportunities for organized crime to operate in the region.

CFSEU-BC’s Chief Officer A/Comm. Manny Mann states: “North District UGET strengthens our efforts in Northern B.C. by expanding our ability to target violent offenders, seize drugs and weapons, and help disrupt gang activity through proven, intelligence-led enforcement.”

“Tackling organized crime and gang violence is a top priority for our government and the CFSEU-BC is leading provincial efforts to coordinate intelligence, disrupt criminal networks and protect communities in British Columbia. I want to thank the CFSEU-BC for their leadership and relentless efforts as they expand the UGET initiative into the North, working with partners to address regional challenges and improve public safety for northern communities, said Nina Krieger, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General.”

Operational Timeline
North District UGET is expected to be operational in 2026, pending staffing and logistical requirements.
